Same-Day Dental Restorations with CEREC technology

The team at Living Wellness Dental Dorchester in Calgary, Alberta, believes that each client who visits our health centre can achieve a radiant smile and whole body health. Dr. Kindal Robertson and his skilled cast of professionals provide quality dental services from a wholistic perspective, including restorations, to each client in need of care. Even with regular visits, proper at-home care and personal hygiene, a healthy smile may be harder to maintain, especially those more prone to tooth decay or staining. Fortunately, thanks to the CEREC Tooth Restoration System, the pathway to restoring your smile has never been as efficient, convenient and comfortable.

What is CEREC?

Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC), is a system for dentists that desire more control over the fabrication and timing of dental prosthetics which commonly require outsourcing of third-party specialized laboratories. This system allows restorations to be designed by a computer and manufactured by a milling machine right in a dentist’s office! Restorations such as crowns, inlays and onlays are now easily made in a single dental visit, eliminating the previously long wait times while still offering the high quality results that our clients have become accustomed to.

How is CEREC utilized by dentists?

Some common dental procedures that CEREC can be used for include:

  • Dental crowns: Dental crowns are tooth caps that cover, restore, and protect your teeth. For years, you would have had to undergo biting into an impression tray, which is then sent to a lab, after which you would have to wait a couple of weeks until your permanent crown is ready.
  • Dental veneers: Veneers are thin shells that cover the surface of your teeth to conceal cosmetic imperfections. Fitting veneers often requires three to four trips to the dentist.
  • Inlays & onlays: Inlays and onlays are great for teeth that are decayed, yet not damaged enough to require a crown. Often referred to as partial crowns, they are restoration options that are stronger, smoother, easier to clean and last longer than other types of fillings.

Now, thanks to CEREC technology, that crown, veneer, inlay or onlay can be manufactured in-office in just one visit!
